This one was monumentally better than the first。 I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I’m excited to go on to the final in the trilogy! Leigh goes far more into detail with this story, really takes the time to develop the characters, and just overall you can tell her writing is improving with experience。

Nikolai。 That's all I have to say about this book。 Nikolai。 I absolutely adore him, with all of my heart。 I think that the storyline was a bit worse than the first one, but Leigh made up for it with Nikolai<3 Nikolai。 That's all I have to say about this book。 Nikolai。 I absolutely adore him, with all of my heart。 I think that the storyline was a bit worse than the first one, but Leigh made up for it with Nikolai<3 。。。more

Once again, if I were much younger I might have considered it a better book。 But I'm not and the number of missed opportunities to make characters and plot interesting and surprising is jarring to me。 But I do not recommend the game "shot for every time Mal's name is mentioned" although it might greatly improve the digestion of this book。 Once again, if I were much younger I might have considered it a better book。 But I'm not and the number of missed opportunities to make characters and plot interesting and surprising is jarring to me。 But I do not recommend the game "shot for every time Mal's name is mentioned" although it might greatly improve the digestion of this book。 。。。more

Essentially a rehash of the first book - the same storylines, the same problems, the same character dynamics, the same situations, the same lack of character motivation。 I was willing to forgive it in the first short book, but this one is 50% longer and still gives us nothing more。 One would expect that we would at least start to explore why Mal is so special and the hints at his own power, but - nope, the same sullen silences and teenage love spats。

Disappointed but not surprised。 Nikolai was the sole reason I finished this book。 I only enjoyed when he was in the picture and the bits where the Darkling appeared, the rest。。。 I can live without。

I finished it in two days。 That’s good? It’s certainly better than the first one and I do like one of the new characters a lot (but once again need a little less perfection in these characters! a little less predictability)。 I do love the world a lot, and of course want to know how it ends。

I enjoyed this and thought it was better than the first book。 This series is still missing something though。 The characters read a little flat and the world is still not totally explained。 There's this cool magic system and everyone has different powers but it's all a little confusing if who can do what and never well explained。 It's just missing that something that could make it great。 I should love Alina and root for her。 I should have strong feelings on her relationships with Mal, Nikolai, an I enjoyed this and thought it was better than the first book。 This series is still missing something though。 The characters read a little flat and the world is still not totally explained。 There's this cool magic system and everyone has different powers but it's all a little confusing if who can do what and never well explained。 It's just missing that something that could make it great。 I should love Alina and root for her。 I should have strong feelings on her relationships with Mal, Nikolai, and the Darkling。 But I just don't。 I'll keep reading the series but wish is felt more real and finished。 。。。more

There are so many strong, quirky, characters in Siege and Storm。 I loved the vitality of Zoya and the twins。 Furthermore, Leigh Bardugo's writing style is action-packed and always diving forwards。 Although Bardugo's writing tends to have more "tell" than show (such as in Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows), it was considerably better in Siege and Storm。 However, I found the plotline of Siege and Storm dull and predictable。 The number of marriage proposals is insanely redundant。 And I hated the Dar There are so many strong, quirky, characters in Siege and Storm。 I loved the vitality of Zoya and the twins。 Furthermore, Leigh Bardugo's writing style is action-packed and always diving forwards。 Although Bardugo's writing tends to have more "tell" than show (such as in Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows), it was considerably better in Siege and Storm。 However, I found the plotline of Siege and Storm dull and predictable。 The number of marriage proposals is insanely redundant。 And I hated the Darkling。 I can understand the reasoning behind Genya and David's (relatively) mild wrongdoings, but the Darkling—absolutely not。 There's no explanation behind his savageness to the point that he's just a villain。 。。。more

First of all。。。HOLY SHIT!!🤯 This book was WAY better than the first! I don’t really know what I expected after reading the first book but this one was absolutely amazing。 There were a lot of parts in the book which left me shook or where I wanted to keep reading and that is what I want in a book! So it will be no surprise that I give this book a 5 out of 5⭐️ I am really really curious and excited about how this story will end!

The characters in this book were absolutely amazing! I fell in love with Stormhond and continued to love Nikolai just as much。 I was amazed by him and I’m very looking forward to see him develop throughout the next book, and in his own duology!
